Need Help Unlocking BIOS for RX 5700XT Upgrade from GT 710
#1
Hey everyone,

I recently decided to upgrade my graphics card from a GT 710 to an RX 5700XT to enhance my gaming experience. However, I've encountered an issue with my BIOS settings that I believe need modification to accommodate the new card.

Here's a bit of background: I've been running an older system with an Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 processor for quite some time. Recently, I decided to breathe some new life into it by upgrading to an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650, which my motherboard supports.

However, upon attempting to install the RX 5700XT, I've found that while the GPU spins and shows signs of life, there's no image display. After some troubleshooting, I suspect that my BIOS is locked, preventing me from making the necessary adjustments to properly utilize the new graphics card.

I've scoured the internet for solutions, but I haven't been able to find a clear answer on how to unlock my BIOS to make the necessary changes. This is where I'm hoping the community here at BIOS Mods can lend a hand.

If anyone has experience with unlocking BIOS settings or has encountered a similar situation, I would greatly appreciate any guidance or advice you could offer. Whether it's pointing me towards specific tools or methods for unlocking the BIOS, or sharing your own experiences with upgrading older systems, any help would be immensely valuable.

Here are some specific details about my setup:
Motherboard: http://www.ascendtech.us/intel-lga775-g4...ella3.aspx
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650
Current Graphics Card: GT 710
Desired Graphics Card: RX 5700XT

Thank you in advance for your assistance. I'm eager to get my system up and running with the new graphics card, and any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I suspect your bios doesn't support uefi boot. All modern gpus need UEFI to even boot. I ma not sure how easy or hard to add this functionality to the bios or even possible.
