Thank you. But that is the problem. My manufacturer Packard bell has stopped supporting my system.
But this is their their support link anyway

I have the same problem with PB stopping support. Try googling 'BIOS Backup Toolkit' its a free download and can pull ur BIOS data from the chip.

I'm guessing this is a 'do it at ur own risk' thing cos it seems anything u do with the BIOS has the chance of going wrong.
