Yes I currently have phenom 9350e installed on system. Works fine.
Ofcourse it is bossible that I have a deflect cpu on my hands. I don't have any board to test it is working
If I install it on my system, I don't get any kind of post, just fans starts but no singnal or keyboard lights at all.

Would it be possible to flash HP bios to compaq board... would there be a change to get the cpu working that way?

Have you been able to solve this? I'm in the process of doing the same but seems the Phenom II X4 945 (95W) is not compatible with my BIOS.  My BIOS is v5.58 on NARRA5 ver 5.0.
