RAID on Asus IPIBL-LB
#21
Hi,

I've added a SSD to my computer but the ICH9R hard drive controller has problem detecting it. I've read on the Net that a later version of ICH9R rom could solve my problem. Is it possible to update it for this bios?

Computer : HP m9340f
MotherBoard manufacturer : Pegatron
MotherBoard model: IPIBL-LB (Benicia)
Bios version: 5.43
ICH9R rom version : 7.6.6.1002

BIOS link: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...6&sw_lang=
Motherboard caracteristics page: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum...=c01611312
Computer support page: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/produ...ct=3740326

Thanks for your help !

Yes, I need the same support for mr HP Pavilion same bios ver. as the member before willing to donate if I get any support for this Bios. I have 2 vertex2 120gb SSD setup in a Raid0 array and when I boot the Bios don't see my araid on the bootorder sequence, then I have to reboot hit F10 enter the bios switch setting of Raid to ACHI back and forward, then leave it on Raid exit bios then see my araid on the bootorder sequence order and if after that I have to reeboot not problem, the stars again when I shutdown the computer and do a cold boot, then I have to repeat the process that I explain at first.

MB: Asus P8z77-V Premium, Bios Ver.0408
CPU: Intel i7 3770K @ 3.5Ghz
GPU: GFX 560 DirectCU II Top @925Mhz
Boot Drive: SSD Revodrive3 X2 240GB and (2) Vertex2 Raid 0
Memory:GSkill Ares 16GB @2133Mhz @9.11.10.28.2

Could you try to post the ROM file itself? For those of you with this computer, if you run that setup, it should extract some files to a temporary directory. Grab the file before closing the program. I'm not sure what I'll be able to do with it, but I'll give it a shot if you do that.

Feel free to use/link/host any BIOS I post, no credit necessary. However, this is at your own risk and I take no responsibility. Always keep a backup of a known-good BIOS. Don't flash a motherboard if you don't have a backup computer just in case.

Always use RAID mode. RAIDFix

Hello everyone.
I read a topic here dedicated to a problem with a creation RAID-5 on the ASUS IPIBL-LB motherboard - only RAID-0 and 1. In my case I can't even find an option in SATA Controller mode with RAID; IDE and AHCI only. My BIOS revision now is 5.43, Core version 8.0.14. Something (HP settings I suppose) prevents me to set the option with RAID.
Do anyone know how can I come over such kind of ijustice? Maybe trying another BIOS?
Thanks.

Problem solved!

I made a modified Bios from Antinomy's raid5 5.43 rom, in which inserted Intel's RST 11.2 with TRIM support (the best version you can desire for ICH9R)

Enjoy!

Did this BIOS mod work? Could you use it for RAID5?
How do I install it?

thanks

Hi, i actually use this bios for 2 months. it is rock solid.

this is THE BEST BIOS you can desire for IPIBL-LB. and you can install it with afudos utility, as a standard factory bios.
100% ok. guaranteed.

I followed your instructions and got the BIOS flashed with your file, when going to SETUP I can see it is another version now, but when opening the storage part using Control-I, I can still only select RAID0 or RAID1. It is looking the same as it looked before. Should I first have a 3rd disk inside it in order to view that option?

EDIT: YES it has RAID5 available after plugging in the 3rd disk, I assume it didn't have that before, thanks!
