This is not a thread to "unlock" bios.
You basically work around its UI, but the thing itself remains the same.
A modern tl;dr could be:
- Get your bios image (dump/download/extract from wherever you want)
- Open it with Phoenix Mod Tool (if image is not signed UEFITool should work too)
- Find SetupUtility module in Structures
- Extract it decompressed
- Open the thing in Universal IFR Extractor
- Extract it disassembled
- Open the resulting text file
- Look for whatever variable number you want to tinker with
- Boot in UEFI Shell
- Use setup_var command as explained in post #2
If one doesn't feel brave enough, trying to edit normally available settings could be a good start.
yeah this is good. if you need only modify setuputility. what about other bios modules?
have a RAM with min. 333MHz and other with min 400MHz. 400MHz is partially detected only with presence of 333MHz one, when alone laptop doesn't start. how do you find bootstrap min clock for ram in bios?
