unlocking the Advanced tab with this metod is not possible, read the first post to understand why. You can "only" set variables via the efi shell, even ones you can't see (llike the advanced ones).

Hi! I'm into Hackintoshing, and have been persuing the use of Clover for quite some time now. I'm pretty sure that my bios supports UEFI booting (uses InsydeH2o BIOS), but it, for whatever reason, wants to use some sort of CSM module to boot legacy only. Furthermore, when I press Esc and then F9 to load the boot options menu, there is no "Boot from EFI File" option, which should be present.

I've read online that there's an option to enable this in the BIOS itself, but unfortunately, that option isn't present anywhere. I've booted from DUET before, so I know that I can still access the UEFI Shell. The question is, therefore, can this method be used to modify this setting so I can boot without the need for DUET or CloverEFI? I mean, it's pretty silly to go from UEFI -> CSM -> Boot0 -> Boot1 -> Boot -> CloverX64.efi -> Apple's boot.efi -> mach_kernel, when I can just go from UEFI -> BootX64.efi (renamed CloverX64.efi) -> Apple's boot.efi -> mach_kernel.

Here are my specs:
Computer: HP Pavilion g6-1b71he
Bios Type: InsydeH2o (RSA Signed!!)
Bios Version: F.34 (Download here)
Description: I want to change the option "UEFI Boot Mode" from Disabled to Enabled.

I've also attached my decrypted bios from the HP_Tools Partition if that would be easier for you!
.zip   sp57881-decrypted.zip (Size: 1.99 MB / Downloads: 8)

Can you help me with this? Thanks in advanced!!

Hi

I have been reading your thread and learning as I am going along

I have an HP DV7 7030 with the infamous H20 hidden BIOS with no options available, BIOS version is F.29

I would like to have all options available, with AHCI and SATA the most important priority as I have upgraded to a SSD.

Please let me know if you can do this..and will be happy to express my gratitude!

Thanks!

This method is only used to change the EFI global variables via an EFI envoronment. You won't be able to unlock the advanced tab with this.
