I think that we might have better luck with distros using 5.3 kernel in the future

So, ASUS published a new BIOS version (306). I installed it and there are two changes that i noticed:

1) updated EC controller version
2) the option to change the vram allocation for the igpu (you can choose 128m or 512m)

I will make a new dump once i get home

So genius239 managed to succesfully unlock it. It is version 306 for ASUS FX505DU. You can flash it yourself if you have an spi programmer. Just be careful about the voltage, the chip in my laptop is 1.8V and not 3.3V.

So, what will the difference be with the unlocked bios?, does it have the option to change memory frequency and timings?, thanks.

Well the unlocked version doesnt really do much more. Ram overclocking is not there and the only thing that might be useful is SR-IOV. There is also a new option for CSM, but i tried booting from mbr and it doesnt work. I would say that until someone manages to unlock something more, there is not really any reason to flash this mod.

Btw if there is someone who could unlock some other options here is the dump of the newer version (307), but I dont think there will be something like ram oc or anything that useful.

So asus released another version (308). So far i think the only change is another ec controller firmware upgrade.

If anyone could make this bios at least use the nvidia gpu (to post over it) i would be really glad.

If not, you can at least have a look at the dump.
