[REQUEST] Compaq Presario CQ56-100 (Intel) Series Whitelist Removal
#1
Hi Camiloml,

I'm willing to test the whitelist removed version of this RSA bios.
You started working on this before but didn't receive any feedback
from the requester.

Here's the old thread.
http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-De...cq56-109wm

Manufacturer: HP
Model: G56-129WM notebook
BIOS Revision: F15
BIOS Type: Insyde
BIOS link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52501-53000/sp52622.exe
Current Card: PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8171&SUBSYS_1467103C&REV_10
Card to be tested: PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8176&SUBSYS_1629103C&REV_01

I want to upgrade to this supposedly compatible HP card, but
the laptop still throws an error 702 when the card is installed.

Thanks!

Hello!
I am trying to replace a wifi card on my laptop. I am willing to dump, flash, read, write and try things in order to learn and replace my card if there is no ready made solution. I'm just a bit confused on what to do exactly if i need to do it manually.
Here is some info.

Model: HP Compaq CQ56-201sv
Bios Type: Insyde UEFI
Bios version: F.15
Bios Link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52501-53000/sp52622.exe

Old Card: Ralink RT53890 PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_5390&SUBSYS_1636103C&REV_00

New card: Atheros AR5B195 (with a BT module) PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002B&SUBSYS_1461103C&REV_01

Note: I have flashed the extra features file sp52622_MoreOptions_ByCamiloml and it works fine, extra features are enabled.
The other no white list sp52622_NWL_ByCamiloml file does NOT work, it reboots, starts the proccess and fails to update.

Best regards

I have used andy's tool and a hex editor to take a look at the files. Managed to find the wireless check and found interesting hex adresses.
Anyone knows if i can replace this with my own? How to convert my new card's PID VID into hex? Will this work?

I have just modded this laptop with a new Broadcaom wifi card. Then I got the 104 error, and I have only just learned about the whitelist.

Would it be possible to remove the whitelist on this BIOS?

The correct BIOS for my system is F.15 Insyde

The latest correct BIOS for my system is here:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52501-53000/sp52622.exe

Any help would be truly appreciated.

Thanks

HP/Compaq CQ56-1219WM F.15 BIOS whitelist removal requested.

The posted bioses in both "whitelist removed" and "more options", SP52622.exe do not work for allowing a non-whitelisted wireless adapter to be added. Tried both several times each.

I would love to have the "more options" version but the stock bios with just the whitelist removed would be fine with me, I mainly want to use an updated Intel wireless card with Bluetooth for this laptop.

The "more options" bios from this site:

www.bios-mods.com/BIOS/index.php?dir=Insyde%2F&download=sp52622_MoreOptions_ByCamiloml.exe

or the whitelist removed, which does NOT remove the 702 error and is still locked up:
http://www.bios-mods.com/BIOS/Whitelists...miloml.exe

and finally, here is the link to the stock F.15 Compaq bios from the HP website:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52501-53000/sp52622.exe

Thanks for your help!

The bios version i am currently running: Insyde F.06
