Hey mate, i really thank you for putting time into making this mod.
I'm unfortunately having issues flashing this BIOS mod through FreeDOS after running flash.bat ..
The error i'm receiving is:
Code:
error 104: The 2 SPI flash device do not have compatible command sets

Thank you again, i hope you respond asap.

You have to edit Fparts.txt so copy the old file from Bios Mod previous to this one
and replace It would be work !
If not then I need to see your Eeprom Chips on Mobo so . . .
Use this tool, run It as Admin and upload here the result file :

http://rghost.net/7xBfRPCvp

Let me know

Thank you for replying..
I don't seem to understand from where to get the previous Fparts.txt but one thing i noticed is that my SPI chipset exists in the Fparts.txt by the following line:
Code:
W25Q32BV,    0xEF4016, 0x2000000,  0x1000, 0x20, 64, 0, 0xc7, 80000

Should i dump my BIOS and upload it instead?
I have checked the FaceClock Method, it seems possible but the problem is that i don't know the specific commands for what i'm looking for in example:
Code:
setup_var 0x36 0x01
setup_var 0x39 0x01

Thank you again for replying and i hope you reply as soon as possible.

Ok mate,
It seems to get two Eeprom Chips :

W25Q16BV
W25Q32BV

Open into modified folder the fparts.txt and edit It (use an TxtEditor) and follow the
rows :

W25Q16BV, 0xEF4015, 0x1000000, 0x1000, 0x20, 64, 0, 0x60, 80000
W25Q32BV, 0xEF4016, 0x2000000, 0x1000, 0x20, 64, 0, 0xc7, 80000

Both have to get same Command parameter 0x60 or 0xc7

so modify both to get this :

W25Q16BV, 0xEF4015, 0x1000000, 0x1000, 0x20, 64, 0, 0x60, 80000
W25Q32BV, 0xEF4016, 0x2000000, 0x1000, 0x20, 64, 0, 0x60, 80000

save and try again if not work then modify again to get this :

W25Q16BV, 0xEF4015, 0x1000000, 0x1000, 0x20, 64, 0, 0xc7, 80000
W25Q32BV, 0xEF4016, 0x2000000, 0x1000, 0x20, 64, 0, 0xc7, 80000

save and try again, then let me know which ones are good !

Okay, My first try was to change it to
Code:
W25Q16BV, 0xEF4015, 0x1000000, 0x1000, 0x20, 64, 0, 0x60, 80000
W25Q32BV, 0xEF4016, 0x2000000, 0x1000, 0x20, 64, 0, 0x60, 80000

Booted into FreeDOS, ran Flash.bat but received an error:
Code:
Error 252: Image file "5521A12.bin" not found

This error was fixed by editing the line in Flash.bat to "5521A14.bin".
Again, continued in FreeDOS the flashing process, it seems to have been erasing, reading, writing and returned:
Code:
FPT Operation Passed
FPT Operation Passed
FPT Operation Passed
Batchfile C:\FLASH.BAT does not contain labl 'exit'

In which i think everything went smooth and fine, rebooted, something weird happened for a moment but it booted into the modded BIOS just fine..
Thank you so much.  Big Grin

Hi mate,
Let me know the Original PCI / VEN ID and new One too !
Then write the Error You get booting the new card into . . .
let me know
Regards

P.S. I have prepared a Generalized version Slic 2.1 + ADV . . .

http://rghost.net/6PrYqV4KF

Use Sleep Bug if You get error

Unpack the Bios Mod and copy the "modified" folder into C: HD root place !
Then open Command Promt with Admin Rights (CLI window C:\), put your laptop
into Sleep Mode (just close the Lid) and then Wacke-Up It (reopen the Lid),
after this execute these comands from CLI window :

cd \

cd modified

fptw -f bios.bin -bios

(or fptw64 for Windows x64)

Let me know
Regards

I have a Dell Inspiron 15r 5521. I am trying to set up wake on lan for the computer. Unfortunately, the A14 InsydeH20 BIOS does not have any options that are conducive to wake on lan. I'm wondering if these options do exist, but are hidden or something. Do any unlocked or modded versions of this BIOS reveal settings that would be useful for wake on lan such as:
  • wake on lan
  • wake on ethernet
  • wake on network
  • wake on pci
or anything similar?
