A little late but if you're still looking it has been at least partially unlocked for some time it just took some digging to find the answer, as I had the same question. Once you have the BIOS it sounds like you're still going to have to do the Insyde BIOS Recovery procedure.

Hello! I would be so grateful if someone could unlock (if its possible) my BIOS. I always dreamed to have a super pc for gaming but always had this basic pcs, anyways very grateful with who gifted me but, now i dont have money yet to buy one cool pc, so i want to overclock my pcs.

I couldnt find any link to my bios but this one from another post, the same notebook, but not sure if is the exact same bios that mine:

Hey, I succesfully upgrated the BIOS, thank you so much!
I have been with some trouble with my notebook beacuse of that I delayed to upgrade the BIOS and answer you. Everything its okay now but what I dindt try its to overclocking, I saw the Advanced tab so I think I will be able to. I didnt yet because I dont know very well how to do it, I mean what porcent I can speed.
I will study that, then overclocking and then will let you know, but anyways the post or thread can be closed if you want because you have already helped me.

Hello, i'm wondering if it is possible to mod the unlocked bios to force the memory bus speed to 800mhz. I have 800mhz memory and noticed using efi rfi dumper that there are two defined settings for memory frequency, auto which has a value of 0x0 and 667mhz with a value of 0x2, however below that it has a suppress field that shows to suppress if the value is 0x1, 0x3 or 0x4. If i can force the value 0x4 would this make the memory run at 800mhz? The gl40 chipset is capable of this, also would it be possible to create an additional menu option under the system memory frequency menu to make the 800mhz user selectable? Either way, if there is a way to set this setting to another value to force the 800mhz fsb i will be happy. I know i'm losing performance because the memory is not running at full speed. the chipset certainly supports it, i'm just trying to figure out how to instruct it to do so. Any help will be appreciated.

Both of those tools were detected as containing virus's. I couldnt run them. the bios i obtained from this site. this is the file that was attached by donovan6000:

Ok mate,
These are GOOD Tools and You get FALSE POSITIVE result by AntiVirus

So You can disable antivirus (It detects some strange actions as the Tools
gol to read Hi-MEM Protected zone where resides the Bios) !
I found your Biod Original and Modded I have Donovan's and mine but
I need all infos about your laptop so use these tools and upload the results
here if so You want I try to help You !

The second tool gave an error that a kernel library was invalid. I'm working on obtaining the other tool aida64

I was unable to obtain the other tool aida64. I can verify with cpuz that the memory is definitely topping out at 667mhz ddr(333 mhz actual bus speed). I have sisoft sandra that should be able to pull any info you need, or i can boot into linux and get any other information you like. What other info would you need?
