Hello. Right now the only one is: HP support answered me that GPU memory is set to auto, so it must grow to 2gb at game start. I don`t know how to check this. Need some software with logging, I think. Have any ideas?

Hello dmitrysh & RussianJesus,

Unfortunately, AMI UEFI HP notebooks like yours that came out after 2015 use RSA cryptography to verify whether the current BIOS image is signed by HP. If even a single bit is modified in the BIOS image without HP signing it, the notebook will brick itself.

There is still hope, however. There is a utility called RU.EFI that allows you to change hidden settings without modifying the BIOS. I will use your BIOS dump to see if there are hidden settings that might correspond to your goals.

Just so we are on the same page, let me know if this is the case:
(1) Your computer has an integrated GPU (part of the CPU).
(2) The VRAM (RAM allocated to video memory) must grow from a small size all the way to 2GB, which is the maximum allowed video memory for the integrated GPU.
(3) Since this causes performance drops or other problems until the memory is fully allocated, you want this video memory to automatically be set to maximum (2GB) so that the integrated GPU always has access to 2GB of RAM for video memory.

!!!!!PLEASE READ!!!!!! Our Ukrainian friends are undergoing atrocities right now and need support. There are two things you can do for starters:

1.) Donate to one of various organizations offering medical, military, and psychological support to those impacted: Support Organizations

2.) Combat misinformation on social media.

Also, please feel free to PM me if I have not replied again about your BIOS mod request after 5 days.

Hello Sml6397,

(1) right, it is ryzen 5 5600g with integrated gpu
(2) the best solution is to set it to 2048 mb (maximum)
(3) always and forever - 2gb on GPU! Smile I have 16gb ram on board, so it is not a problem to get 2 gb from it

Thanks for answer! Wait for your reply.

p.s. https://github.com/JamesAmiTw/ru-uefi http://ruexe.blogspot.com/ - this is it?

Yes, that is the utility!

I found a setting in your BIOS image called "UMA Frame Buffer Size" (more info here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-280 ). Changing it something other than "Auto" should solve your issue by forcing video memory to always be that amount. Useful amounts that you can set it to include 96MB (lol), 768MB, 1GB, 2GB, 3GB, 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB.

I haven't used RU.EFI for changing settings other than "BIOS Lock" and FPRR, so it may take some time for me to figure this out. I'll keep you both updated!

If you want to get a head start, follow the following:
1.) Format a USB Flashdrive as FAT32. This will erase all files on your flashdrive. Follow these instructions: https://www.easeus.com/partition-master/...html#part2 BUT DO NOT TICK "QUICK FORMAT" in Step 3. We do not want to do a quick format.

2.) https://github.com/chipsec/chipsec/raw/m.../Shell.efi Download this file. It is a UEFI shell. Create the directory /efi/boot on the flashdrive and then place the Shell.efi file there. Rename it to "bootx64.efi".

3.) http://ruexe.blogspot.com/2020/05/ru-5250379-beta.html Download this file (the password is right under the download link). It includes RU.EFI. This will allow us to change hidden settings. Extract just the "RU.EFI" file to /efi/ on your flashdrive.

4.) Now try booting from the flashdrive into RU.EFI. Once you first boot into the flashdrive, you will be in the UEFI environment. From here, type the "fs0:", "cd /efi", "RU.EFI" commands. You should now be in the RU utility.

Let me know if this process works.

(09-22-2021, 10:33 PM)I entered ru.efi from a flash drive, but I don't quite understand what to do next - can you explain? Sml6397 Wrote:
