I tried to make mod with replacing setuputility.mod from f.46 (dv6-1000 intel) to this bios because it have same chipset and power options.BDMaster already unlocked this Bios successfully. It was repacked successfully but FI cannot identify output file (no platform ID and firmvare version). Now i have no idea how to get initialized Power tab.
Now i try to unlock some options at Acer's laptop.
It have same unlocking methods such as HP.So, Acer's bios menu contains Advanced tab but some options are hidden.
In HP bios suppressing condition are true (opcode 27) and false (opcode 28).
In Acer most suppressing conditions are initialized values. For example, User Access level, it can take 5 different values and all are suppressing conditions.
How to remove it?I think, condition option edited will solving.
Falseclock's method shown us how to unlock more options without modiing bios. You must to load from USB EFI Shell and write next commands "setup_var 0x85 10", "setup_var 0x86 10". Value "10" is not in list of suppressing conditions so you passing successfully. This values saved in memory and no risk to get brick.
Second method:in bios rom edit values of suppressing conditions which cannot be initialized (none of 5)

Hello, Hexl!
My CPU temp have same 70-80C before upgrading. Temp was discreased really after changing to P8400.Now CPU temp is 38-41C when OS loaded. It not above 70C when i playing games. But you must do not recover breathing holes of your laptop because heated air may damage it.
I agree, Cpu upgrade will be expensive if seller is vendor Big Grin
You can find it at Ebay stocks. Some shops solding laptop-parts (dissassembled unconditional laptops often or used but working).
I bought my 2 CPUs for 35$ each. (One was bought separately in shop of used laptop-parts and second cpu contain in unconditional dv5 laptop without lcd panel, hdd, ram,ac adapter)
You may try to find sellers of CPU in your region.Trust me, upgrade to P index CPU will discreased core temp very effective.
I think, used cpu is not expensive because it not producing in present time.
This CPU have lower voltage than your CPU so undervoltage is good solution in some situations.
Our motherboard supports 1066 Mhz FSB so DDR3 may be installed but not in this laptops.
Your current Cpu have 2.2 Ghz frequency, 800 Mhz FSB and 2 Mb cache.
Our motherboard supports Intel Core 2 Duo P9700 (2,8 GHz , 1066 Mhz FSB, 6 Mb cache). It's safest upgrade if you want to overclock your laptop.I not found clocks and voltages management so BIOS overclocking is not impossible here.

Good news!
I have some experience with editing setuputility's rom (added deleted selectable menu, removed all suppressing conditions).
I will try to rewrite Debug tab to Power tab's menu in hex view. It takes many times but i have a great interest to unlock Power tab Smile

I have done It Swapping EFI IFR Power chunk with Debug and didn't work Sad (look above) !
There is further chance to modify this Code to enable Custom Menu :

.text:0000000010001530 sub_10001530 proc near ; CODE XREF: DllEntryPoint+84p

All Insyde Bioses have a Backdoor (Keys combination) which Developers can use t test all functions
into Bios Code when start laptop and before Bios completed his Bootstrap (reading Keys on keyboad)
there are som Keys to press togheter to get the Custom Menu enabled (all Tabs Showed) !
i saw many cases of It on HP and on Lenovo laptops !

https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-S...Pro?page=2

https://colinxu.wordpress.com/2010/04/08...syde-bios/

http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/...os.558891/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-9XFejk0_w

I have modified on an Acer Aspire the Custom Menu, but only once worked as there are many
checks done continuosly about Keys pressed into buffer, then about the Flag Switch
(0169C : mov byte ptr [rax+75h], 0 or 174D : mov byte ptr [rax+25Eh], 0)
So It needs to fix (write the right values into that Variable Offset ) these values to
get It working . . .
I said too much so far Wink

After repacking mode i try to flash bios and window is appear with text "Warning!Cannot check platform ID".After that InsydeFlash is broken. How to solve this problem??
I suggest that i need HP Dmi tools to write needed information. Could you confirm this??

Have you tried flashing the 3603 BIOS? Some laptops will work with both 3602 and 3603 (at least mine does).

Prepare a recovery USB and try to flash this firmware: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9u_3GO...sp=sharing

I recovered with a 3602 BIOS, then it worked.
In BIOS I have a 3603 BIOS, but my notebook only accept 3602. Its curious..
