[REQUEST] Huawei MateBook D 14 AMD (KPL-W00) BIOS Unlock.
#1
Hi all:

I'm requesting an unlock of this Huawei BIOS, specifically the "Advanced" menu, so that I can adjust settings like the dedicated VRAM.

Laptop: Huawei MateBook D 14 AMD

BIOS Link (v. 1.18): https://consumer-tkb.huawei.com/tkbapp/d...eId=985472

Screenshot attached (there are so no submenus; it's literally just this one screen).

Hello, I also second this request...I'm my case, please need to enable CSM for legacy boot devices.
Huawei released bios v.1.19 a few days ago.
Link can be found https://consumer-tkb.huawei.com/tkbapp/d...eId=985472

fd file can be found as attachment KPARR119.fd

.zip   KPARR119.zip (Size: 4.06 MB / Downloads: 66)

Thanks for the help!

So, out of curiosity, did I make this request incorrectly or something? If no one wants to unlock this BIOS (or can't, for whatever reason), that's perfectly fine, but the lack of any response makes me think maybe I did something wrong.

Hey, just wondering if you were able to find out anything about this? Just picked up one for 200 and would love to be able to change the boot order.

Looking for any word on unlocking the bios for my Huawei Matebook D Signature Edition (Ryzen). Weather there is a source for purchasing a modified bios or if anyone has seen one floating around anywhere. I Just need to be able to access the more basic of the advanced fuctions (i.e. Boot Order).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Flashing the mod BIOS would likely be the main issue - please post a link to your stock BIOS package download from the manufacturer
Aside from flashing a mod BIOS, which may be a pain, you can easily change any settings you want via grub using setup_var

Hey, thanks for responding. I've figured out how to do what I want, and feel really stupid, lol. In order to change the boot order on the Matebook D all you have to do is move the drive up or down with F5 & F6 keys. I didn't see this earlier as I can't access the "Advanced" tab due to bios being locked down.

Huawei tech support told me that there was no way to change the boot order with "Rooting" the device. I decided to take one more look this morning and the nerd in me felt immediately shameful.

Anyways, thank you very much for attempting to help me.

OK, glad you figured out the boot device order issue. If you want me to unlock BIOS for you let me know.

If you could unlock it, that would be awesome. I am seeing in windows that only 6.9 GB of RAM is usable of the 8 GB that are in the device. I've been told that there are ways to fix that in the bios, but Huawei locked it down. If you could unlock the Bios or if you have any suggestions on what to do about the (soldered in) ram and how to unlock it that would be great.

So, on the memory thing, what did they do, lock in 1GB for graphics memory or something? Is your BIOS the same limited "One page" as shown in image at post #1?

That BIOS is a mess, and half is obfuscated so I can't see what settings I'd be enabling. I can make these changes easily
Make visible -
BIOS Version Anti-rollback
USB Port Enable
Hardware P-states

And I can possibly make the boot tab visible, or be an added part below advanced section, unsure which way that would appear, but for this change I would only feel comfortable doing if you have flash programmer to recover in case it goes wrong. And if you do, I'd rather edit a dump from you than the stock BIOS.

If you do not have programmer, I can safely make those few setting above visible, if the stock flasher will let you flash in the edited BIOS

I cannot find setting related to memory or graphics memory reserved etc, these must be part of the half obfuscated settings Sad
May have better luck looking into a dumped BIOS vs the stock BIOS partial BIOS update file. If you have programmer send me a dump
