Hi,

I ordered the Lenovo G505S (thanks to its specs) in order to install FreeBSD only on it

I know that there are few Supported WIFI mini PCI express cards,but I wasn't worry about it because i have Atheros that i know that works fine


Unfortunately when switching the card i found out the first time that there is a whitelist on athe BIOS.

For now i use Ediamx nano USB that works but I do want to replace the internal broadcomm with the Atheros

I saw online many tutorials how to remove this list and tried one that should replace my Atheros pci id with the broadcomm but without success.

is their already someone with the latest bios modified without the white check ? or this is not possible to do?

I have extracted the BIN file from the installation from Lenovo (winflash(3.00)) if someone know how to do it or have one finished I will appreciate the help

Hi Hexum,

Unfortunately not.  Despite over 800 views on this post and many of my own hours trying to learn how to re-programme the bios file, I wasn't successful so still have the stock card in the machine.

Every once in a while I recheck on Google to see if anyone's managed it, but no such luck

I am sorry I haven't a way to write Back Bios Mod on Insyde and AMD CPU !
So only using an HW SPI Programmer and Clip We can do this job !
