I am sorry as your Bios Version 97 has locked definitively the Eeprom Chip and We cannot
Downgrade !
Only way We have to rewrite the Bios Mod is using the Tools (SPI PGM + Clip) look here

Hi,

I know that I have the EEPROM locked but I thought that the "sleep bug" might help with this. When I tried to write the new BIOS from DOS I used to get this error: "Error 28: Protected Range Registers are currently set by BIOS, preventing flash access. Please contact the target system BIOS vendor for an option to disable Protected Range Registers.", not this error from Windows.

Now it just seems that the Intel FPT doesn't recognize my chip, because of the fparts.txt. Isn't the sleep bug useful especially for those with the EEPROM chip locked?

No my friend and I tried Recovery Bios too !
I am sorry this time Lenovo get a well job and Locked definitively It.
So on this version even to Downgrade We can use only the Tools !

I am sorry to cmunicate that after version 96 all Bioses are not modificable !
Only using the Tools (SPI PGM + Clip) is possible to rewrite the Bios Mod into
Eeprom chip !

Use this tool run It as Admin and upload here the result file :

Then unoack the result file using WinRar v.5.20 or above and look for
Error 280 !
