Well, thank you.

But i get an error while trying to flash:

Error 28: Protected Range Registers are currently set by BIOS, preventing flash access.
Please contact the target system BIOS vendor for an option to disable Protected Range Registers.

Does someone has an idea how to proceed from here.

With best regards damaex

Well, I took my woes to the Lenovo support forums, there is a big thread of users with the same issue as mine, none have resorted to flashing the BIOS (those guys are on this thread likely) and Lenovo is not bent on doint anything about it it seems.

I have ordered the hardware, BDMaster, I managed to find it cheaper than 30 Euros afterall, but it will take almost a month to reach here.

In the meantime can you please explain to me the risks of flashing the BIOS using this method?

Only one that your MoBo is whimsical and You cannot work on-board so It would
desolder the Chip !
Them a lot of users did the read and write Firmware whitout any issue !
Just remember to read and save the Eeprom Chip Dump (Firmware) to get a Backup
for any evenience !
I will modify your Firmware file and You will rewrite It back !
Taht's all !

Thats it. This is firmware. I've used WizardProg to dump this directly from IC.
Works fine =)
Thank You! =)

Thank you for the reply. When the hardware finally arives, can i simply flash the BIOS you already modified for me last time or do I have to provide another dump file taken with the hardware?

Yes You have to read the Full Dump Firmware from your Eeprom Chip and
upload It for me and I will reply with the Firmware Patched, then You will
rewrite back this one !
