[REQUEST] Lenovo G770 (40CNxxWW) Whitelist Removal

Thanks for feedback. Big Grin

Same here, worked like a charm though

Also worked for me. Bios Flash worked under Windows 7-Home Pro 64bit and allowed me to install an Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 Dual Band WLAN card.
Thanks

I have successfully installed an Intel Wireless AC 7260 card in my G770 with this mod.
Thank you very much!

However I have two small problems.
I'm not sure if you can be of any help with this.

Now the startup of the laptop takes 4-5 times the time it took before.
It shows the Lenovo Logo for about 15-20 seconds, proceeds to display a blinking cursor 5-10 seconds and then it starts Windows.
Before the flash it showed the Lenovo-Logo for about 5 seconds and booted Windows directly.

Furthermore the bluetooth of the card doesn't seem to find any devices.

I'm running Windows 8.1 x64 on a SSD in AHCI.

I attached the original BIOS.
If you manage to fasten up the Boot, I will donate more for your service!

Edit:
I found out that the slow boot and Bluetooth-Problems vanish as soon as I replace the Intel card with the original one.
With the Intel Card bluetooth jumpt between "Device is not connectet", "No drivers installed" and "This device in working properly".
It seems as if either the card is faulty or my lenovo and the intel card just don't work together...
I have a second intel card (same model) in a dell computer which works fine there.
This way I can find out if it's the card oder the lenovo...
I'll keep you posted.

Edit 2:
I experience the same problems (slow boot, inconsistent bluetooth) with my second AC 7260.
So I guess they're simply not 100% compatible.
The wifi part works just fine, bluetooth won't work at all.
If the bluetooth is responsible for the slow boot as well or it's just Lenovos reaction to the unauthorized card remains a mystery.
I will try to order a different AC card, let's see what happens.

Edit 3:
Okay... so apperantly there is only one other AC card on the market, a Broadcom. Unfortunately it's double the price of the Intel card.
As I'm no fan of Broadcom and I'm not willing to spend about 60 Euros on a new AC card which *might* work, I'll just be stuck with 65MBit and an USB BT dongle for now.

It is very unfortunate that Lenovo has such issues with the USB connectors in the MiniPCIe connectors.

Sorry for the late response, things have been very busy and I haven't had the chance to try it yet.

When I ran the command in the cmd prompt, I got this error:

"PDR Region does not exist.
GBE Region does not exist.

Error 28: Protected Range Registers are currently set by BIOS, preventing flash access.
Please contact the target system BIOS vendor for an option to disable Protected Range Registers."

Does that mean it won't work even if I try using the USB flash method?

I made a bootable DOS USB and ran the prr2.exe from the modified folder contents and then I ran Flash.bat after it told me it was ready to flash.

Looks like it worked!

Thanks for your help, donated Smile

So it looks like the card works, but there are other things wrong. Everything is now very slow and sometimes unresponsive. It also looks like there is something weird with the graphics all of a sudden, like the refresh rate of the screen slowly becomes very slow with lots of flickering.

Any suggestions?
