There is no overclocking options available for notebooks due to hardware limitation , i can look for other options if you need .

Why not? My Previous Workstation an older (W510 with the 920xm cpu) that model had an unlocked bios and we were able to play around with overclocking. So I think the options are possible. This is not a notebook, it is a workstation W520 with 2920xm cpu. It comes with a 2960xm chip..just the bios doesn't allow adjustment of TDP etc. It be great if you can help us. Maybe a hacked bios might work..like the Alienware R2 boys..

Helllo,

I am looking for a bios mod that will remove the bios lock that limits the ram speed of the W520 that is currently limited to 1333mhz. I have read forums on here that talk about it but I am unsure if such a bios mod actually exists. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great. Thank you in advance.
