Ok I asked to Sovem (thanks !!!) for new method !
We have to use Winflash.exe from Original Bios Package to get a Bios Backup
or use Pflash.exe to get It.
I will post the instructions if You don't know how . . .

Hello,

Found your site after a frustrating Google search. ISP updated to dual band routers, but my Lenovo laptop is not capable of dual band so I purchased an Intel 7260HMW wireless adapter. Had no idea that Lenovo whitelisted devices. Always had Dell computers and bought the Lenovo on a friend's recommendation. This is my first and now my last Lenovo product! Signed the petition but fear that nothing will change.

Can somebody fix me up with a modded bios that won't check the whitelist?

BIOS is here: http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/...uj18ww.exe

Thanks in advance for any help!!!!

Well that puts a wrench in my upgrade plan! BDMaster, I do appreciate your efforts and I apologize for sending you on a wild goose chase...I had no idea this BIOS mod wouldn't be possible. Can't imagine ever buying another Lenovo or recommending one for that matter!

Hi, I have a Lenovo Thinkpad E540 with the following BIOS version : J9ET98WW (2.18), and I would love a skilled person to remove its wireless card whitelist.

I tried several things to backup my BIOS but FPT_BACKUP-BIOS.exe doesn't work on my system (win 8.1 64bits) even in administrator mode (error says: "cannot be run on the current platform") and UNIVERSAL BIOS BACKUP TOOLKIT says "can not identify bios"...

I'm lost. I can just upload the bios file provided by Lenovo's website, which is an ISO file that needs a CD burning... A zip file of the ISO is attached.

Here's my current wifi card id (intel wireless N-7260): PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_08B2&SUBSYS_42628086&REV_73\4&8BCC588&0&00E4.
There's an "ID COMPATIBLE" list under it in my wireless card properties that says:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_08B2&REV_73
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_08B2
PCI\VEN_8086&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_8086&CC_0280
PCI\VEN_8086
PCI\CC_028000
PCI\CC_0280

Here's what happened: I have a Intel wireless N-7260 and I wanted to upgrade to Intel wireless N-7260 Dual Band. I've already bought the wireless card so... (How could a dual band version of the same wireless card not be in the whitelist?! Outrageous!)

Please, anyone? Thank you.
