Thanks a lot

BDMaster, i could make it with the same file that you sent me before.

Thank you so much anyway.

I have one request.
the ballistix memory module xmp profile 1867/10-10-10-30-45 command rate T2 is not supported. The recognised memory timings are 11-11-11-32 with command rate T1, instead, of xmp profile or SPD jedec profile 1866 10-10-10-32, as seen from CPU-Z (or HWinfo64) that the memory module supports.

Can you fix the bios memory command rates bug in T420 bios?? It does not work
I think the bios memory option should be as follows as seen from other bios settings:

OneN Mode Support
Enable/Disable OneN Mode Support
Disabled
Enabled

If disabled then the 1N command rate will change to 2N.

The way it is it does not work. It always stays to 1N even if 2N mode is selected.

We also want the bios to support the XMP 1.3 EXTREME memory setting. If there was an XMP profile setting (as opposed to SPD) in the bios then it would be selected automatically I guess. Running memory clock at 1600MHz instead of 1867MHz it does run at SPD memory settings: 9-9-9-28 T1 which gives me slightly better passmark memory mark. Another method would be to replace one of the spd memory profiles with the xmp memory profile by purchasing the thaiphoon burner but I may risk bricking the memory modules. As a test, that the 2N mode does not work, in the bios advance memory settings when using also the 1600Mhz memory clock and we select the 2N mode the command rate still remains to T1. So there is a bug with the Nmode. Please correct.

Command Rates
1N=T1
2N=T2
I am now using the 1600Mhz (800MHz double data) clock since performance wise it is better until a solution is found.

SOS
However the memory module according to HWINFO64 also supports JEDEC SPD: 1733.3 (10-10-10-30). Can you please add this frequency to the BIOS memory settings?????

Also HWINFO64 also states that under JEDEC SPD profile: 933.3 (10-10-10-32) is supported but probably it is T2 command rate compatible that is why it cannot be set automatically.

I guess that if the bug with the Nmode support is fixed (1N and 2N) and the 1733.3 MHz memory frequency is added most problems will be solved as JEDEC SPD profile 1867 (10-10-10-32) is very similar to XMP profile 1867(10-10-10-30-T2).

Thanks
I have 2x4gb dual channel memory.

Here are the specs of the Ballistix Memory Module

Here is the hwinfo64 specs with 1733 MHz support

memory advanced settings
1. Can you fix the oneN mode support to work with N2 mode when selected? it does not function for the moment.
2. Can you add memory frequency 1733.3?
3. Can you add memory xmp profile option too as a choice????

Cheers
Thanks for your reply.

Take this one: https://www.sendspace.com/file/0whb9r... its tested successfully.

For using ac7260s bluetooth function in T420 you have to cover pin 51 on the card Click me

1. what do you think is the benefit of 2N Mode? 2N (2T) Mode is slower than 1N (1T)
2. why, exspecially when 1866MHz seems to be working at your system
3. this would be nice indeed, but i think this isn't possible

hello

1. the ballistix memory supports 1866 10-10-10-32 2T (jedec profile but also supports extreme xmp faster profile with 1866 10-10-10-30 2T) which is faster than 1866 11-11-11-32 1T achieved timings. When selecting OneN mode support advanced memory setting in bios and chosing 2T, it is not recognised as 2T. I have tried this with my memory modules at all supported frequencies and no change what so ever.

2. with 1733 setting the supported timing will be 10-10-10-30 1T which I would like to benchmark against 1866-11-11-11-32 1T achieved timings.

1.since 1733.3 frequency is supported it should be in the memory options
2. since Nmode is offered as an option, 2T timing should be working in order to get better timings from achieved timings. Ballistix 1866 factory timing 10-10-10 is only supported with 2T.
