what steps should I follow  to unlock my lenovo Y50 BIOS, I'm newb here   and I don't have any idea where start.


My BIOS version is: 9ECN36WW

i have lenovo y5070 and just got a replacement today and hope to unlock advanced menu
my device is i7 4720 with gtx 960

BTW, how do you lift the +135Mhz cap on the GPU core frequency in the BIOS? How to achieve a greater FSB frequency?

Hello, I just found your forum. I have been looking for a way to unlock my BIOS so that I can adjust my cores higher than +135. How do I collect my BIOS information to upload? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

We will flash Bios Mod v.3.03 over v.1.13 or 1.14 to Unlock Eeprom Chip so
You will get the EC Code v1.14 and Bios Code v.3.03 but doesn't matter !
So Downgrade before use Bios Mod v.3.03 . . .

How To Downgrade :

Run this to downgrade:

Remember to set the option in bios that enables you to flash an older bios, before you run it.

I found another solution - Just in case it was ever needed.

Download the 1.14 version

Then use 7-zip to extract that .exe file, You will find a platform.ini file into that folder.

Then Look for "BIOSVFEnable=2" and replace it with "BIOSVFEnable=0", run as Administrator InsydeFlash.exe tool and go !

Verified working !

Donate to me for my work and time . . . look into my Signature

Unpack the Bios Mod and copy the "modified" folder into C: HD root place !
Then open Command Promt with Admin Rights (CLI window C:\), put your laptop
into Sleep Mode (just close the Lid) and then Wacke-Up It (reopen the Lid),
after this execute these comands from CLI window :

cd \

cd modified

fptw -f bios.bin -bios

(or fptw64 for Windows x64)
