[REQUEST] Lenovo Yoga 2.11 whitelist removal
Name: Lenovo Yoga 2 11
Model: 20428
BIOS: AACN94WW (Haswell)
New wifi card: Intel 7260 ac

I have read the BIOS using Universal BIOS Backup ToolKit 2.0 which shows that the bios is 5120k.

http://rgho.st/6Vc65xvjC

I loaded the above .rom file into Insyde EZh2o and I am instantly greeted with this message regarding FD Information:

http://rgho.st/8My6Qpv2s

I am able to see a number of modules but this is where I am stuck. I downloaded the latest bios from Lenovo and the .fd file there is 8845kb. That file cannot be read into ezH20, but i can be read into Andy P (MDL) Phoenix-Insyde-EFI SLIC Tool.

I have read a few of the the other threads. From what I have read those bios chips are 8192k whereas the the one I read is only 5120k. I can change the setting in Universal Bios Backup Toolkit to read out 8192k. I am also prepared to purchase a SPI reader/writer and clips if need be. I am not familiar with how to use the hardware, but with clear instructions  I should have no problems.

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

This is the result. Ran as administrator. The file ran as x32 vs. x64, though my OS is x64.

I'm guessing from all the errors from the results I will have purchase the SPI programmer and clips. And read/write the BIOS directly from the chip.

Hello,

I just came across this form today, and I want to first say you have an amazing community here. You help so many people, and it's a great thing to see.  Smile

I just received my Lenovo Yoga 2 11 today, and I tried to install the Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 7260 wireless card that I ordered, but got a message during post that I installed an unauthorized wireless network card. Sad I would like to request your help in getting the BIOS modified to remove the wireless card whitelist requirement. My computer information is below. I appreciate your assistance.  Shy

Product: Lenovo Yoga 2 11
Model: 20332
CPU: Intel Pentium N3540 (Bay Trail-M)
Current BIOS: 92CN93WW (Version 1.93) BIOS/UEFI Download

If at all possible, I would like to continue using the latest BIOS/UEFI available, since it doesn't appear Lenovo will be updating it anymore. Please let me know if you require any additional information. I apologize if I miss anything, since I am very new to this.

Thanks,

Junkyard Dawg

Hi,

I have a Lenovo Yoga 2.11 that recently upgraded to AACN94WW Bios. I own the laptop outright, as I paid cash for it, so I don't care what kind of lock they have on the "Unauthorized WiFi Card Detected", I own it and I don't have to ask for authorization for jack on my computer, because it is... MY computer (sorry - pet peeve).

Anyways, could someone send me a ROM image of this bios patched, or possibly I can use the fastclock variables in a hex editor which are mentioned in this post? I tried compiling the 1802.com to no avail, would have been cool as I'm only modifying NVRAM. Every single link is broken (says "File Deleted") and it redirects me to a page wanting a credit card. I have a good old FTP I'd be happy to give you a login for.

I'm getting my SPI programmer in a week. By then, I can read an image of my BIOS if necessary, give you access to my FTP, and perhaps someone could send it? If not, tell me which offset I need to flip / modify.

Thanks a lot!

Hey,

Not sure if my last reply showed up.  I sent the 2 files ("lenovo" and "results.rar") in BIOS.rar attached to an E-Mail.  Here is BIOS.rar containing everything, plus the latest BIOS update from Lenovo, as well as an older fix called "no-1802.com", it's a Win 98 DOS boot disk, that would flip a bit in the NVRAM allowing the whitelist to be disabled, without modifying the flash.  If you stumble upon the right offset in NVRAM the Flash references to, let me know or feel free to play around with the source code (I didn't write it).

Here's a link to the file, too: ftp://ebomb.dyndns.org/shares/U/BIOS.rar

Or copy and paste: ftp://ebomb.dyndns.org/shares/U/BIOS.rar - don't include the http:// as it is FTP, also no "ftp." just ftp:// and then ebomb.dyndns.org/shares/U/BIOS.rar - sorry for all the edits, it seems to add this automatically.

Thanks,
-Rob

Thank you so much, Dudu2002! F*** you very much Lenovo, and other companies, for not being satisfied with selling a product, you have to control what I can and can't do.

Here is an upload of my dumped UEFI ROM for the Lenovo Yoga 2 11. If anyone knows how to remove the white list, I would really appreciate it.
