Hi Guys,

did i get it right, that you bunch of BIOS-Gods really made it to fix the RMRR table issue as mentioned in this thread?

If so, would it be possible to fix it in this bios for the rampage 2 extreme?

EDIT: Sorry for not posting a direct link, but i´ve found none.

Im dying to get this fixed, because no workaround to enable VT-d in Xen helped to get the system stable when i passthrough a usbcontroller, which are the only devices with RMRR entries. Asus does not seem to be interested or even able to get this fixed, the only statement i´ve got was "Linux is not supported". So youre my last chance before throwing away that expensive crap, and buy even more expensive, but working hardware with less features.

Hi Bunkasan,

From what I hear this has been a very frustrating issue for people. Fortunately you have a fully unlocked retail BIOS which means there's a good chance its fixable without modding. Now there are several places in the BIOS that I see Virtualization items, but under Chipset menus, and Intel VT-d configuration I see the BIOS disables this option by default. I would ensure that these are set to enabled, as well as the other various references in the Tweaker menu and the Main menu. If this doesn't work the second step would be to flash the BIOS again with the options already enabled.

I´ve already tried every option related to virtualiziation, and flashed every available BIOS provided by Asus up and down. VT-d is defintily enabled, and also working for every device without RMRR entries.

As you can see, in the second range the start-address is greater than the end-address. Huh

Only with commenting out the security shutdown in the source i´ve got VT-d to be enabled. The mentioned iommu_inclusive_mapping=1 parameter is set, but makes no difference.

In the xen-wiki they write about a modded unofficial BIOS, where this issue is fixed for the P6T Deluxe. Unfortunatly google didn´t tell me where to find it. (Not for flashing my board to death, just to provide you as much marterial as possible)

So correcting this dmar entries seems to me the last chance to get rid of those nasty system freezes, when having high I/O over the usb controller passed trough (as you can see in the xen log, the two usb controllers, 00:1d.x and 001a.x, are the only devices with entries), like from webcam or external disks.

This are the Intel spec´s of the memory range found in ftp://download.intel.com/technology/comp...ect_IO.pdf :

Gonna test it on Hyper-V Server, shoud reveal if Asus is right, and its really Linux related.

My system specs:

Asus Rampage 2 Extreme
Core i7 920
12 GB Corsair XMS3
Nvidia 7600GT
ATI HD 5870

I will post the results as soon as the Hyper-V is up and runnig.

I have an Asus Rampage II Extreme with a Core I7 975 Processor... i can change in BIOS the QPI Frequency but no takes effect after saving changes... always "setted" to maximum multiplier... what can i do?

Bug 
I have an issue with my board that I cant figure out (no, its on the CMOS batter or bad Bios chip).

My board always detects "New CPU" on boot forcing me to keep default settings (no overclock possible). Can this feture be bypassed safely? Willing to pay first modder that can provide a bios that fixes this issue.
