BTW: T8100, T8300, T9300, T9500 are recommended for upgrading this laptop. BIOS has native support for them.

is it really worth to upgrade to one of those?

i got the T7700 for $3.00 from ebay

T8100 $1.80
T8300 $3.33
T9300 $15.00
T9500 $35.00

The T7700 has more L2 cache (4MB over the T8x00) plus the T8100 (2.1Ghz) is slower than the T7700 (2.4 Ghz) Wouldnt one of those T8x00 be a downgrade over the T7700?


Now i see the T9x00 have 6MB cache and are 2.5Ghz and 2.6Ghz each, do you think it is worth to pay the extra money for one of those? will they make a big difference?

In fact T8300 is slightly faster then T7700 and it's colder.

OK, i bought a T8300 for $3.33, besides what u mentioned, it also supports sse 4.1. 

I will install it, as soon as i get it, and run some benchmarks before and after then update the post.

Hello, hopefully someone can assist me.

I have successfully upgraded my Toshiba L450 from a T7300 cpu.

It works fine but on boot up it error "No microcode update loaded for alternate processor" press F1,

I have the Bios from  V1.5 but the problem persists

I tried to add a new cpu microcode, but it still does not work.

Please Help Me

I found a bios to T7700 with the file name bwaa150a_6FA but there is also an error.

I tried to add this microlist cpu000006fb_plat00000001_ver000000b6_date20070713.bin

but there is a program and nothing is added.

Make sure this file is correct bios for your laptop at first , i uncompress bios file from a exe file that it from below link.
