The most important for me is AHCI right now Smile But i have not much hope with this, there's no AHCI string in the whole bios :'(

I`m really sorry for this , i have opened it using phoenix BIOS editor and found no AHCI strings to unlock ...... also all important menus like hammer configuration and other menus are all found under ADVANCED tab ...... i thought that this tab is hidden but you told me that you see all these menus in your setup utility , sothat there was nothing to unlock so far . Sad

Hi,

Edit of the post and request.

I have installed an AMI bios from a Tyan K8W S2885 in place of the phoenix bios on a FS D1692 board to gain some features and dual core support.

I can report all works well and no need for extra custom work on the AMI BIOS

However I would like to request someone with experience in these to unlock tweaking and OCing support.  As far as I know the multi is locked on the CPUs but a FSB OC ing and voltage control would be most welcome.  There is some DRAM controls already but not needed as ECC ram is not that easy to OC I found and is easier to just buy the fastest modules up front.

I am running a pair of Opteron 290 dual cores. They run stock at 1.3ish V and 2.8Ghz and run so low in power and heat I feel they can be pushed well into the 3Ghz range.   The 290s are a highly binned bit of silicon compared to lower models I have tested before.

I have basically 0 experience with BIOS modding but had a offer from a guy but had gone quiet and unable to get any response . I am quite good with programing PROMS and flash so ideally something I can flash on my programmer, I have a spare 512KB flash on hand or happy to play for a PROM ready made shipped to me which would be best for me.

I have the AMI bios attached.

Let me know if it can be done.

Cheers.

I think no, because bios code not contain information about programmable clocker , option "Clock Gen. Spread Spectrum" in Chipset tab almost nothing gave.May use os-based software for overclock fsb(clockgen, setfsb) on +7% (2800->3000) for RETRO?
Tab "AMD Overclocking Configuration" is visible with installed cpus ?
Voltage is depend of CPU and usually in lower value. OC mobos may have external lines for voltage regulator.( vlad - mean Vladivostok ? )
