[Removed, sp48125] HP DV6000 AMD mod still available???
#1
Smile
First, you experts are great for helping all of us. The appreciation lasts a long time (every time we use our improved systems) !!! Thanks for that.

I'm stuck with the typical "doesn't recognize the wireless adapter" problem. I figure that changing to an Intel adapter might cure it, but need the bios mod to do it.

Can someone please forward the "Disable white list" bios for this laptop:
HP DV6000 (DV6325US)
HP bios F.43
Phoenix bios
Bios release: 6 Apr 2010
Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1
HP Bios Link: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48001-48500/sp48125.exe

The original Mod file was:
HP Pavilion dv6000-sp48125_SLI21_no_whitelist_by_TTAV134.zip
It was here, but all the links are bad. Huh

Thanks, and I will donate.

Thanks for the posting. I have it.
The mod's "bios.WPH" file is from 6-20-2007, but my latest HP bios from HP is from 4-6-2010, ver. F.43 (for Win 7).
Does that matter?

I guess I just execute SWinFlash in Win7 and let it run? Or run from DOS?

Thanks

I couldn't wait, so I installed the bios mod from windows 7.
The install succeeded, but it is an older bios (F.38)
The "Win7" bios is F.43.
Is that Mod available?

My old Broadcom adapter still doesn't show up, so I'll have to wait another couple of days for the Intel replacement and hope that works.

Thanks

I used as base the bios you posted in first link, so i guess it's F43.

To flash your bios you just need to run the EXE file you have downloaded. It auto runs the flasher after unpack and flashes the correct modded bios not that old backup. Smile

I always try to make your way the easiest possible and you all try to complicate, don't know why Smile

Camilio,
I know what you mean about making things more complicated than necessary (I have a Wife !!!).
Sometimes these exe's only run in a dos environment, so I asked, but it should have been obvious it was a "Win" program.

Anyway, the bios mod I got from you was based on the older F38 bios. The newest on is the F43, which fixes a Win7 issue with the laptop battery.

Can I get the mod that uses the F43 bios ???
Here is the HP link for it:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-89406-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=2093&product=3370284&sw_lang=

It's SP48125.exe

I guess I'm really going to owe you!
Thanks

Like i told you i used F43, and the patch is in your hands, look in C:\HPBIOS\NOWHITELIST

Launch manually winplash and select the marked file. Flash and enjoy.

Camilo,
Something's wrong.
Even though your "30B7F43.WPH" file has a "F43" in it, mine does not.

Here is what I see right now:
My "Main" bios boot screen shows bios "F.38" (had HP's F.43 before).
Also "Piriform Speccy" reports the bios is F.38 and date 6-20-2007.
Also the date modified on your "bios.wph" is 6-20-2007.
F.43 should be 4-6-2010.

Is it possible someone mixed up the bios files?

Thanks again.
I just looked inside HP's original F.43 "SP48125.exe" and see that their "30B7F43.WPH" has a date of 3-22-2010.

Shouldn't this be the date on the one we use?
Can I use that one in the Mod you gave me?
