Request for Samsung Q310 BIOS unlock
#1
Brick
Hello,

The BIOS unlocking skill is interesting, but relatively complicated for me therefore I am in need for a help from You.

The computer is Samsung Q310 with NVidia 9200M GS, Intel Core2Duo CPU, PM45 chipset, 4GB DDR2 RAM, ICH9-M Southbridge.
BIOS brand: Phoenix Tech Ltd
Bios version: 11SU.MP01.20100121.HWC

When emulating the BIOS.wph in the BIOS editor I can see the Intel tab which is hidden in real-world. Therefore I request You to unlock the Intel tab or if it is not possible to unlock the whole tab (too complicated), I made a list of the features I would like to change.
I even thought about changing the BIOS defaults with the editor and then flash the new defaults, but luckily I understood that is not a good idea.

If possible could You modify the first BIOS provided which is working for me.

Code:
http://www.mediafire.com/?x47u5eboz50oax5 - 11SU.wph
Modded with Phoenix SLIC Mod 1.90
Mod method: SSv2 custom

(11SU MICOM was flashed before from original executable)

original bios executable:
http://www.mediafire.com/?q7dyybq1v7lcvs4 - 11SU.exe
Official link:
http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/FM/201002/20100209162651656/11SU_WIN.exe

The requested features:

(parent)Intel menu:

CPU control sub-menu:

Intel SpeedStep
CX States
Enhanced C-States
Deep C4
Hard C4
C6
Intel Virtualization Technology

CPU control sub-menu---Penryn CPU Control Sub-Menu:
TXT Feature
VTD Feature

MCH control sub-menu:

Dynamic FSB
DMI Link ASPM Control
Automatic ASPM
ASPM L0 and L1 Entry Support
Force X1
PEG Port ASPM Support

ICH Control Sub-Menu---Integrated Device Control Sub-Menu---PCI Express Control Sub-Menu:

PCI Express Port #1
Aspm
Automatic Aspm
Aspm L0s:
Aspm L1:

ACPI Control Sub-Menu:
Active Trip Point:
High-Fan Trip Point:
Passive Cooling Trip Point

ALS Support
EMA Support
MWF Support

While also looking at the strings of the BIOS I found these:
Code:
frequency ratio
frequency multiplier
'CPU Thermal Control Sub-Menu'
voltage probe
temperature probe
electrical current probe
I would appreciate if there would be change to change the speed or voltage of RAM.
Also if possible the possibility to change the CPU frequency ratio and multiplier.
Does my mobo support Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology, it would be nice to have that as well.

I hope this request is not too overwhelming, as it is very hard for me to assess the potential time and work needed for a specialist. Angel

Thank You for Your consideration.

Hi,

The BIOS is working!
Sorry for being so late, my laptop needed a motherboard repair (not BIOS related) and today I finally received it and tried the bios out. The Intel settings are very nice. The thermal management comes handy and I finally can use the virtualization of Intel.

Regarding the BIOS: Since it is a modified BIOS to use with the Windows 7, You must install the original BIOS update BEFORE, to update the DMI and then flash the new bios using DOS. When flashing in DOS mode I got an error at first saying that the DMI is invalid. Therefore You have to use the flashing files which do not give that error.
The files I used on memory stick to flash the BIOS including the BIOS made by Ahmed Hossam:

Ahmed Hossam thank You for enhancing my laptop.
