[SUCCESS] BIOS Lock Disabled Yoga 2 13 & Pro
#1
Hey guys,

I found an undocumented function in our yoga´s (specially Yoga 2 13 & Pro) try this:

hard reset the yoga (start a directx game and do that on load) --> pushing down the power key for less then 10 seconds
then push randomly and fast (very fast.. - because i don´t know the exact entrypoint for this) "FN+F2+R" (it´s a little bit tricky i tried this 1 - 3 times but the function is there...')
Now you entered an undocumented Mode in Mainboard-BIOS with Tab´s shown on this video:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/40uaa8iolbfku6...7.mp4?dl=0

See under Advanced | Chipset Configuration | BIOS Lock --> which is enabled / you can disable it...
Maybe anyone here´s more skilled in bios modding, try to flash a whitelisted bios with this workaround... ^^

Hopefully...

Hi friend,
I was trying from long time to get a Keys Combinations
to activate the CUSTOM Menu Tabs present in all Insyde Bioses !!!
Many thanks for your report !
Can You say if this state of Bios will remains active after reboot
or It resets to normal (Advanced Power Tabs not shown) ?
and if It stay active can You use this tool (run It as Admin)
and produce a result file to study It (upload It here for me) ?
Many thanks my friend again !
Let me know
Regards

Hey friend,

which tool you ment??

After Reboot, the settings you made on this tab will take effect, but the Tab is hidden on next reboot...
But my thought is if the function "BIOS Lock" Enable/Disable will take effect on flashing procedure????
So can anyone please try this...
I won´t flash my own modded BIOS worried about breaking it!

Look here :

https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-L...od-request

https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...-or-newest

Many times Eeprom Chip is Write Protect by UEFI and We cannot rewrite Bios Mod !

But It was interesting to me the Menu CUSTOM into Bios
I studied so far as there are two Menu Tabs into Bios Insyde :

1. Standard (only few Tabs shown)

2. Custom (All Tabs unlocked and shown)

We are talking about Bios Code and none know this possibility into
Inside Bios (only few HP Bioses were discovered time ago !).
So You find some Keys to activate this Menu Custom into Bios,
that I was looking for so far, now I have to check on Others
laptops to see the corrispondences !
Many thanks anyway for all your sharing knowlegements and
suggestions !
Regards

hey there,

would you keep me updated if this is available on any insyde-bios?
if i had a 100% working Mod, i could try if that "Bios Lock" Feature under Advanced Tab would take any effect of insyde´s Secure Flash Warning... ^^

Please PM me for this...

Thank you!

On Lenovo is better to forget !
For UEFI Bios exists an .EFI tool just for technicians and is
impossible to found !
So buy an HW SPI Programmer and You get the passprtout !
