I want to caution to please make a Phoenix Crisis Recovery DISK from the CRISDISK folder BEFORE you flash your bios. And flash your bios in DOS if possible.

Thank you.

I tried your mod but couldn't flash my BIOS.

Phlash16 showed "Platform Signature not found in the Interface." error and
Winphlash says "BIOS image verification failed. Error code: -149".
Strangely, same messages also appears in case of the original BIOS file R0112N0.WPH.
Is is confirmed in the manufacturer's site that the original is suitable for my laptop.

Are there some solution to force flashing?

Would you please give me an advice again?

Rename R0112N0_SLIC.WPH to R0112N0.WPH before flashing....I redid the modification of your bios. Download the new mod from link below.

I guess Sony[Sony-VAIO]2.1.BIN = 98A7DCAE | 2.1 CERT wasn't available when you chose Dell, or is there another reason?

Sony was not available at the time that I modified your bios.

I figured as much. Thanks for the mod. I wish the Phoenix Mod Tool wasn't closed beta; I'd prefer to use a Sony SLIC from the start in case WAT decides to check system manufacturer.

see the file under link for original sony vaio SZ 1-4 bios update. It updates bios to the recent state with SONY SLIC v2.1 W7U. You get updated from R0092N0 to R0112N0. This bios version can be modded to enable VT and AHCI.
