Isn't the ME disabled in BIOS? That would explain that you cannot see it and install driver.

I couldn't find any particular option for Intel ME in BIOS. Only Intel A-T (Anti Theft) module and Computrace are available which I enabled, but it did no help. However, I don't think that intel A-T module has anything to do with Intel ME (I don't know, I may be wrong), but still, I tried.

By searching for hours on the internet, I came to know that this problem is related to the corruption of Intel ME Region, but I couldn't find any method to completely flash BIOS on Thinkpad T420s.
