extract vbios from ASUS n55sl
#1
Hello people, I have a problem which has drived me crazy in the last days. My laptop is the asus n55sl with a gt 635m. Since gpu-z and nvflash don't save the vbios, I've been using uefi tool and mm tool to extract it from the laptop bios, but without success. Can someone more expert help me?
Thanks in advance.

Link me to stock BIOS version you are using, or upload a dump from your BIOS.

Thanks for the reply, I'm using a backup, because I unlocked my bios.
See if this link works.

vBIOS not compatible with FERMI tools, but unsure what your goal is? vBIOS x2 located in CMSCore module of the BIOS

Thought so it was on csmcore, but I didn't know how to extract from it. My goal is to increase voltage and see what can I do more.
What program do I edit these files?

Extract from CMSCore manually via Hex. Sorry, I could not find any compatible editing tools for those vBIOS, I tried Fermi tool since it's Fermi, but no luck. I did not try GOP Updater type tool just to update versions, it may work

I don't know how to do that. Thanks anyaway, really really apreaciated your time. It's strange because the gt 635m is a mxm.

You have to open hex and find the files, then cut/paste into new separate files like I sent you. What's strange about it being MXM?

Maybe this explains why vBIOS does not work with Fermi Tools, I see it's vBIOS for GT 555M (Both in that BIOS). But I checked, that's still Fermi too?

My bad, I thought by being a mxm, it gets a seperate vbios. It's a fermi, that's clear, but this means I can flash the gt 555m vbios? That doesn't seem right.

MXM is simply the format/type of card connector it uses. And yes, it has it's own vBIOS, may or may not be same one inside BIOS rom (Usually is)
You'd have to remove the card and dump it physically if you wanted to be 100% sure what is on there.

If I were to update the vBIOS inside the BIOS yes, it would need to match what you see above since that is what was taken out of the BIOS.
What does your card look like in GPU-z? Show an image, be sure it's showing the Nvidia info, if you see Intel info, switch it at the bottom drop out menu
