lenovo b590 6274 bricked.
#1
hi, hope this is the right place to post, anyway straight to my problem, i was updating the bios for my lenovo b590 6274 in dos as it said i had to update my bios to H9ET75WW before updating to  H9ET92WW, when i downloaded the H9ET75WW zip folder it had 3 bios files in it and i didn't realize they are for different models and the one i flashed must have been for the wrong model and it said bios update failed and now my laptop is bricked. i have been trying the wincrisis method of recovery but nothing is working, i need to get the original bios file for my model to try with the wincrisis recovery. in the meantime i have also ordered a bios chip off ebay from a seller called bios-master but when i took my laptop apart it has two winbond bios chips and i'm not certain which one to de solder when my bios chip arrives?, does anyone know which is the main bios chip on a b590? thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me. while waiting for my bios chip ill keep trying the recovery. regards arave

hello
try this :
1-rename the bios file to BIOS.cap
2-copy the file(bios.cap) into formatted usb stick with fat32 system file.
3-Make sure your dead laptop is switched off. Plug in your USB stick into a USB 2.0 port (NOT the USB 3.0 ports). Hold down Fn+R, then while holding press the power key and keep it held down untiil something happens.

If successful, your laptop screen will light up, a DOS screen will appear and the BIOS will flash itself. If it doesn't work, the laptop will immediately switch itself off again. Leave this running until it's all done.

hope this will help you.

hi, thanks for your reply, i have tried every method of crisis recovery apart from the one with the pflash.efi crisisrecovery.efi as it seems impossible to find the needed pflash.efi/ crisisrecovery.efi files. luckily i found a cheap motherboard on ebay which i have bought and fitted and i have ordered a programmer which will hopefully help me recover my original board which i will keep as a spare backup.
