Hi there,

Just flashed an OptiPlex 360 with the bios provided here, upgraded it from Pentium E5200 to modded Xeon E5450 and it runs like a charm.

1000 thanks!

Cheers

Just replaced the Core2 Duo E7500 with a Xeon X5460 on my Optiplex 380 and it worked without needing any BIOS modifications  Smile
1. The PC is an Optiplex 380 (the 'desktop' (DT) size case). Motherboard code is 0HN7XN
2. The CPU is a Xeon X5460, SLANP version (C0 stepping)
Apart from putting the LGA771/775 adapter sticker on the CPU and cutting the lugs off the CPU socket, I didn't have to do any BIOS mods. Windows 10 and Linux Mint 21.1 both work fine. The Dell BIOS is A07, and the BIOS screen shows the new CPU details.
Performance using Geekbench5 running on Linux has gone from 446 (single core) and 787 (multi-core) before, to 502 and 1457 respectively.
I bought mine from China - x5472 and it seems to not boot, it had a custom solder job on the cpu so I assume thats why. Where can I get a Xeon (trying to make this into a plex server for my gf stepdad)
