Hi friend,
I don't know what do You know about Bios, EC, Chipset, MoBo, etc. but You are a little bit confused.
There are two Firmware on MoBo :

1. EC Firmware (Embedded Controller) 2 MB It's readable only by SPI PGM HW
2. Bios Firmware 4 MB It's readable by Intel FPT and by SPI PGM HW

Bios Region is useful as Generalized (UserData Free) version to reflash all same model laptops and can be extract from Bios File.
EC Bios is not useful as It is cause It is an update and in compressed form !
So You can try to write into EC Chip, but I doubt It will work after.
If do You extract all Files fom Bios Update .exe file You'll find many folders :

bios-20140122110652\BIOS_V680_WIN\UBIOS
F.exe
F8.exe
UBIOS.BAT
WPID64.exe

Where F.exe is Win7 Install Folder so You can extract It and rename as :

Win7_Platform_Bios

Where F8.exe is Win8 Install Folder so You can extract It and rename as :

Win8_Platform_Bios

Into these folders You'll find the EC Firmware and Bios Firmware separated into two files :

F_ME_FW.FD (Intel Management Engine) 1.5 MB
F680.FD (Insyde Bios v.6.80) 4 MB

So all is splitted, but when Bios File is usefull, EC files indeed no (I think a I haven't tryed).
So that's You have an SPI Programmer, do all files Backup (to came back if something goes wrong) and try, let's go and let me know if It works as It is or
It needs to decompress in other form.
Many Thanks for your experiments friend.
Let me know
Regards

I can give you mine.

It's the same laptop, but mine is the C660D-14E but we have the same CPU ,also.
Go inside the 1.40 BIOS File, you will see the bios.rom you select it and flash it Smile
