Xeons 5600 series & Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R

FF seems to be working okay. I skipped testing the others as FF was released around the same time as my 09 cpu and included 6 core support. It's still acting a little weird with overclock and wouldn't start when I added too much voltage. I have gotten 3.6ghz to something that seemed stable.

Try to increase Vcore & QPI Voltage to stability.

Hi guys! New to forum, hoping for the best!

So, a couple of months ago, the MoBo that I was using, EX58-UD3R, stopped POST-ing out of nowhere. So, I thought it died on me, and I bought a Sabertooth X58.

Recently, I discovered that the EX58-UD3R POSTs with an i7 950 inside. So, I took a look at the CPU Support list and guess what? The X5650 that used to work just fine wasn't supported. I have the .bin files for the CPU microcode, but I'm not too sure how to modify this BIOS without making it unflashable (modify its size too much). Any help?

Tell sSpec of your Xeon.
Post screenshots of first (CPU) & third (Mainboard) tabs of CPU-Z with native CPU.
What happens when you try to boot with X5667 X5650 (with defaults settings)?

I don't have an X5667, I have an X5650. And the Motherboard doesn't POST at all with the Xeon inside. Only works with my i7 950. I don't have another CPU that works on X58. Can't I provide the details that CPU-Z gives to sSpec? I can't power on the PC right now, as I'm not at home, but I know quite a lot of specs about my EX58-UD3R Motherboard.

About sSpec - look at top of your Xeon. Screenshots of CPU-Z - with i7-950.

Oh! I only now understood what you meant by "sSpec"! I was viewing the post on my iPhone 4 last time, what can I say, outdated Safari apparently. Attached the requested screenshots.

Update BIOS to FF version and try to boot with X5650.

Saw what that FF BIOS version adds, but that time when this MoBo stopped POST-ing out of nowhere, it had FK version, which is much more recent. I reflashed the BIOS with the backup one, that's why I had FB BIOS in that screenshot. Please help me modify the BIOS file, as swapping CPUs back and forth is a time consuming process for me, since I don't have the stock LGA 1366 cooler no more.

Saw that some of the modding members here opted to modify the BIOS by themselves instead of telling the OP how to do it. If that's your choice as well, then mod the FK version, and not any other one.
