[REQUEST] Toshiba Satellite L645 Bios Mod
#1
Hi everyone,

I've been reading forum for some time now and i've seen here are some very skilled people doing amazing things.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L645D-S4106 (PSK0QU). Here is a link to the BIOS i use: http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/...0qv220.exe

First of all i need to speed up fan a little.

Fan works all the time at 65% speed until CPU temp goes up to 67-68 C degrees than it speeds up to 80% and it keeps speed until temp goes down to about 55 C degrees.

What I want is to have fan speed at 80% when it reaches CPU temp 60 C degrees and 100% speed if it reaches 65 C degrees.

Another thing is in Bios Description on Toshiba Webpage it says in one place:

Version 1.70 - 2010-09-09
Limited the DDR3-1333Mhz DRAM speed to 1066Mhz.

I want that limit removed and my memory working at 1333Mhz speed.

The last thing is, if possible to have all hidden Bios menu's Unlocked.

With hope i'll get some help I thank you all in advance.

Anyone can help me with any of the problems?

I tried to open te3220.fd file with Phoenix BIOS Editor v.2.2.1.3 but it gives me the error of "No BCPs found!"

Than I tried open by PhoenixTool v2.50 and it shows all modules but i'm not sure how to start discovering which is which.

I never worked with bios file modding tools before.

This one is really great. From what i've seen fan speeds are the same as before.

But Multiplier works a lot smarter, as it does not increase multiplier more than needed so it does not generate as much heat as before.

I'll test some more but for now it seems what i need.

From what i've read on another forum i found out that fan speed on toshiba are not controlled from bios but from EC.

Hello Bios Mods forum.

I need your help if someone can help me.

I was having overheating problems with latest official ver. 2.20 bios and BDMaster was kind enough to make some modifications to it and result was no more overheating issues.

Problem i have is memory is working at DDR3-1066Mhz speed in both official and modded ver. 2.20 bios i have.

Thing is in official ver. 1.50 bios memory is working at DDR3-1333Mhz instead of 1066Mhz and system is a lot more responsive but it overheats without BDMaster mod and at some point fan goes on full speed and never lowers back speed, so i have to turn off and start again the computer.

In Bios Change History found here http://support.toshiba.com/support/model...65&osId=31

you can find at ver. 1.70 Limited the DDR3-1333Mhz DRAM speed to 1066Mhz.

So i'm looking for a way to disable that limit which i guess it is in some bios modules.

I've noticed that you can extract, insert or replace modules with Phoenixtool256 tool.

Now what i want to do is replace the dxe modules resposable for memory speed but i do not know which one are. Maybe some of you who are more experienced with bios modding can help me identify them.

Any hint would be appreciated.

Here are links for official bioses:

http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/...0qv220.exe

Thank you.
