Mods for Lenovo x230, tested on bios version 2.73, PhoenixTool 2.73.

These changes were taken from other sites and other Lenovo models, adapted for the x230 and tested on personal laptop.

You need to dump the bios from your notebook, from what I read you can't flash someone else bios dump, your laptop will not boot.
Use the PhoenixTool part from here http://developers-club.com/posts/219893/

Quote:We start it, we select our bios.rom and we wait until it unpacks it, further in the field of Manufacturer we select Lenovo and we press the Advanced button, there we tick off "Allow user to modify other modules" and "No SLIC". We click "Done" and "Go", when the window will open we click nothing and we go to the DUMP folder where our Bios is unpacked.

Replace the Date Tab with the Advance Tab in Bios
File: 32442D09-1D11-4E27-8AAB-90FE6ACB0489

Replace HEX: 04320b483cc2e14abb16a73fadda475f
With HEX: 778b1d826d24964e8e103467d56ab1ba
Offset: 0x2A0 - 0x2AF

Whitelist bypass
File: 79E0EDD7-9D1D-4F41-AE1A-F896169E5216

Offset: 0xC4E-0xC4F  Replace HEX: 0F84 With HEX: 90E9
Offset: 0xCA3  Replace HEX: 16  With HEX: 00
Offset: 0xCB8  Replace HEX: 74  With HEX: EB

Power Management
File: F7731B4C-58A2-4DF4-8980-5645D39ECE58

Offset: 0x4962  Replace HEX: 75  With HEX: EB   Hackintosh Power management
Offset: 0x51F0  Replace HEX: 74  With HEX: EB   CPU multiplier management

After you're done click the OK button on Phoenix and your bios will be repacked.

Hi everyone, i bought 4g WWAN card form my x230 Tablet, but at boot got 1802 error.
After bios update at version 2.71  i tried to remove device withelist following some post in this thread, i dumped bios with my CH341a spi programmer and open it with PhoenixTool.
I tried to open dumped file with standard file editor but i have some problem with encoding, i'm unable to read file content for find 1802 error string and debug it.
Someone can kindly suggest me a strong editor or framework to edit bios dump? or someone can help me to edit this bios for remove withelist?

Hi
I need help to fix this bios dump, remove all whitelist and advanced menu if possible.

I maybe have old not updated bios, should I update to newest bios and dump bios one more time?
Or can I update bios after I have flashed the modified bios?

Thanks in advance.

(edited after updating BIOS to 2.71) Hello everyone, I am new to this and appreciate the help of this forum. I would like to have my whitelist removed and advanced options enabled as well if possible for my X230t.

I got the CH341A + Clip, and ran a BIOS read on the top chip (4mb) using the CH341A tool and this guide (https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/commen...30_how_to/) and here is my output attached. I am not sure if I did all the steps right, but it did generate a 4mb file with data, that resembles the bin that others have posted. I used settings for MX25L3205D for the chip which is what comes up when I click detect. Let me know if anything appears off.

Thank you for any help. Happy to donate.
