$250 BOUNTY: Intel Compute Stick BIOS mod needed
I changed my mind and I'm going to seek an exchange with the Ebay vendor if it turns out this really can't be made to work with 1.8v

Ken at Kee Electronics is checking with his engineer.  He happens to also be the Ebay vendor mcutools I purchased from.

Funny, same person.

If I do an exchange, I'll get something that supports the newer chips and is equally as good or better.

Could be an addicting hobby if I can learn how to do the whole thing.

Hopefully next week we get the show on the road finally.

I would do that, I think ebay forces returns anyway now even if they wanted to deny it, so all you have to do is ask and say didn't meet your spec which seller knew in advance and didn't tell you until later.

Yes, it's good you are speaking with the same guy Big Grin

Seller already told me it's OK to return it.

So I'll get my $42.50 back or whatever I  paid.

My Dupont cables just came in today, so the 1.8v adapter is the very last  thing remaining.

Still no 1.8V adapter here either, it will be funny if we both get them on same day! Big Grin

So, Ken is seller correct? Did he have a suggested model for you from his selection?

Ken is known as mcutools on Ebay, but he also works for Kee Electronics.

He said they don't have a 1.8v SPI programmer which is very strange if that's the new standard.

Maybe he only deals in older tech, for TV's, DVR's, video related stuff etc. The default voltage, and the voltage options seem this way.
The device you showed me looked like it was built for that kind of stuff, not something you need for modern motherboard BIOS programming

The 1.8v adapter is proving to take an eternity to get to me.  It was ordered April 1st.

I still don't have it yet and it could be all the way until June 5th.

Maybe the boat ran out of fuel oil or something.

I'll let you know soon as I get it.

My 1.8v adapter just arrived today.   I can get started on the firmware dump later this evening.

I don't have a clue how to stack all this properly so I plugged the 1.8v adapter onto the CH341A's ZIF connector, and did the same thing with the SOP8 board (that I connected the DuPont cables to) onto the top of the 1.8v adapter's ZIF connector.

Let me know if all this is needed and if I can eliminate the 1.8v adapter since I'm not using the Willem anymore.
