[REQUEST] Ideapad 700-15ISK - Variable add
#1
Dear Gents,

I rescued a Lenovo Ideapad 700-15ISK Type 80RU.
The matter is that Bios is displaying:

Product Name - Lenovo E5 - Wrong, it should be the above name
MTM - INVALID - should be replaced by the number on the sticker on the backside of the laptop
Lenovo SN - INVALID - should be replaced by the number on the sticker on the backside of the laptop
UUID Number - 0000000-000 etc, this one might have been lost because i don't have it anywhere.
All te info can be seen in the attachement.

Now, can someone please add the Name, MTM and SN to the bios file so they will be updated as they should. Any help or indication would be greatly apreciated.

The OEM update file of the laptop is available at: https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mob...cn63ww.exe
If you think that other stuff needs unlocking, etc. please feel free to modify as you desire, as I don't have any other requests.

Thank you in advance for the help and support

So.

Using the help of the community I have managed to get a step closer but I am stuck at another point now. Looks like the way to do it is with the command below but it throws an error and a beep:

Winflash64.exe /patch /dms "LENOVO" /nodelay /exit

Phoenix SCT Flash for Windows V2.35.0.0

SecureFlash BIOS detected.
Initialize Flash module.
Read current BIOS

Begin Flashing......
----++++++------+++++++ etc.
Image flashing done.

Flashing finished.

WARNING: BCP DMI run time update service failed =0x8000045C

BIOS is updated successfully.

And nothing is changed

I think that it may need to use the WinFlash64.bat and insert the command in that file so the computer restarts in UEFI and does the Capsule update there.

Any ideas on that command that needs to be put there?

One more question gents, if the BIOS was wrongly programmed, can the OEM Bios be used to overwrite the bad programming through the WinCris bios recovery method using the .CAB file from lenovo's website?

Thanks

Hi
Try...but this procedure does not work for this model of laptop...you need a SPI-programmer+SOIC8 clip only
