Lenovo B590 (HM70) CPU Upgrade
#11
Your laptop is based on NM70 chipset. This chipset (as HM70) has well known problem and can't run i3/i5/i7 more then 30 minutes.
Only hub replacing will help. Or you can replace whole motherboard to new one with HM75, HM76 or HM77.
Another solution: put your laptop to sleep state every 25-29 min. This reset a timer. You can use Task Scheduler to do it.
Project me_cleaner can't help in this case.

Thanks for the info @DeathBringer
I cleaned the Intel ME, and it is gone for good. The 30 min limitation is still present though Sad Will try to find someone to solder HM75/76/77.
All the best

Good day all

I have tried 3 cpu upgrades that was listed on the Lenovo FRU list.
But the system still shuts down after 30 min on the dot.
Is this a bios problem?
I updated the bios , removed the internal battery. I basically did everything i could find online.

The original cpu was 2020M SR0U1
The ones i tried were the following
i5-2520m
i5-3210m
i3-2330m

Thanks in advance

Hi DeathBringer

Please see below, where is the supported CPU section ?
The machine currently still has the i3 in not the original 2020. Would that cause an issue ?

Sad
Hello everyone I apologize in advance for possible errors in the text, perhaps I wrote the wrong topic, I use a translator... I have a problem with constantly restarting my laptop every 30 minutes. The background is as follows: there was a laptop in the configuration B590, motherboard 20206, chipset HM70, processor Celeron 1000m, this motherboard broke. They installed the B580 motherboard 20144, chipset HM70 to replace it, installed the B820 processor - everything works well, but it restarts every 30 minutes. We thought that the processor is not compatible, installed a Pentium 2020m processor that is exactly compatible with the HM70 chipset - unfortunately, the problem of restarting the laptop has not disappeared. I need help to remove this 30min timer in my bios...
