Request to add Ivy Bridge-E support to Epson Endeavor Pro7500 X79 bios
#1
Hi,

I was wondering if somebody could help add Ivy Bridge-E support and possibly EP support if it fits; to the latest Epson Endeavor Pro7500 bios. If any features in the bios are hidden, could they also be unlocked. The board is an X79 Motherboard but Epson didn't update the bios to support Ivy Bridge-E. According to UBU, I found that the board does support both Sandy Bridge-E and EP cpus but I'm not familiar enough with tools to add Ivy Bridge-E and EP to the bios.

The link to the latest bios is http://faq.epsondirect.co.jp/faq/dl/app/...QID=026452

I have also attached a copy of the bios.

Thank you Smile

Adding microcode will not add support for new CPU.
Post a screenshot of Mainboard tab of CPU-Z.

I still don't have the board with me yet but I was looking through postings and found this posting for the exact same board. Not very helpful at the moment but hopefully I will be able to get more information when I receive the board.

Hi,

I just received the board and was able to do a bit more investigation. It was produced by Foxconn and it appears to be an OEM version of Foxconn Quantumian1. Unfortunately, Foxconn did not develop a BIOS for Ivy Bridge-E on their board either.

Do you think it would be possible to flash the updated ME firmware and update the bios microcode to add Ivy Bridge-E support?

Thank you in advance for your time.

Thank you for letting me know. Is there any possible way to make it work?

The X79 board is not my main computer currently so I'd be willing to try different things.

The bios chip on my X79 board is a 25Q64FVSIG.

I have also attached the Foxconn bios.
