[REQUEST] Acer Aspire X3900 BIOS Unlock
#11
Same error in DOS lol, umm ionno da only thing dats making me want to go back is the fact that i still cant raise FSB. So its pointless cause i didnt want to raise anything else, but i got turbo boost working now, though i was very scared to change the bios settings. I just have 1 question, since i cant revert back, is there any way for me to know a setting will not work before i change it in my bios? how come the bios doesnt reset to default when it sees its unable to start?

Im not sure , i cannot really help you on these issues as i do not own this board to replicate the errors you are getting etc

Just because an options there doesnt mean its stable on your system!

Just to clarify, can you verify what flash tool and version you were using on what BIOS chip.

Thanks,

Hey well as you may have known its a OEM acer, and i am using the tools provided by them on their website which are: AFUDOS v2.41 in both DOS and Windows then i actually downloaded it officially from the AMI website which was the v2.45 version im thinking... so yeh it doesnt want to reflash any type of bios rom at all.

INFO:
Motherboard
Manufacturer Acer
Model FIH57
Chipset Vendor Intel
Chipset Model Havendale/Clarkdale Host Bridge
Chipset Revision 12
Southbridge Vendor Intel
Southbridge Model H57
Southbridge Revision 06
BIOS
Brand American Megatrends Inc.
Version P01-B1
Date 04/03/2010

EDIT: well i also would like to know what exactly does this error mean? "Can't analyze the IIM information" does this mean the modified bios is bad? or even that i actually have had a bad bios flash without actually knowing it? Googling the error hasnt helped at all, cause no websites seem to be able to give information on how i can fix this except replace motherboard -_-

My guess is either the chip is no longer flashable etc. or the board can't handle being reprogrammed. My best guess would be if you have a spare chip with the ROM on it see if that works without error.

I'll keep looking into this meanwhile,

Hello, can you see if there is something hidden in the bios.

It is an Acer Aspire X3900 desktop (SFF) (Intel Core i3 530 @ 2.93 GHz)
