Lenovo Insyde B40-30 nvme support
#1
I have b40-30 laptop that Ive unlocked all the areas on the chip and I can get all tabs unlocked with keyboard sequence
but I am trying to add nvme support

this is a signed bios and am unsure if its rca or phat

it looks like the flashing tool AND the bios itself needs to be signed

people seem to have good luck with correct for your platform fptw using the sleep bug but I cant locate 9ccn30ww.exe sleep bug version
also nvme mod bigger change to bios so unsure if after sleep bug flash if bios will even load
in addition insyde nvme module extracted from official lenovo bios with nvme support shows nvme module is combo smm and dxe module so
unsure if standard nvme.ffs insert will work
using insyde tools or uefi tool to insert nvme module breaks the signature
and hex editor shows uefi tool and official insysde h20 tool's capture of the smmdxe nvme module differs by one byte between the tool
so unsure of which nvme module to use or extactly where to put it (h20 give 4 FV locations and inserts it for you with no choice)

hardware flashing any moddified bios=brick

hex edit signed bios for unlocking areas doesnt break bios and can be flashed with official bios update package tool
although uefi tool shows all areas unlocked fptw still will not flash bios
the insyde flashing tool uses fptwup as the backing flasher which shows it can do /mfg switch putting bios in manufacturing mode
or /disable me using fptw (my bios is txe)
I am unsure how to hx edit nvme in because i cant do a comparision of before after nvme insert as that breaks the bios changing its size
and differences are scattered when I would expect a single block of code starting and ending at a static location

any advice would be much appreciated along with a speedy donation

thanks
