[REQUEST] Acer PT715-51 (Triton 700) insyde BIOS Unlock
#21
Hi,
I just joined the forum I went ahead and bought a Programmer clip as recommended and am now trying to figure out how to unlock the Acer PT715-51 (Triton 700) insyde BIOS Unlock. As a gesture of goodwill I also used you as a referral since you originally inspired me to unlock this bios. What software do I need? I am currently installing win10 back onto the laptop for Acer PT715-51 (Triton 700) insyde BIOS Unlock. I want to unlock it so I can put fedora linux on there but for now using win10 because based on the replies in this thread it seems like that is what they are using for the BIOS flash tools. Anyhow, ANY help would be greatly appreciated so this laptop doesnt end up in a landfill somewhere.

Thanks,

-g

Hi, I'm on the same situation as goggy59, this and few other forums inspired me to try and mod bios so I can set AHCI instead of RAID mode to install Linux. I managed to dump bios with FPTW (Intel CSME System Tools v11 r14), thanks to your guidance above, Dudu2002, thank you. Tried opening it with H20EZE but couldn't export anything, it gives an error "Program can't get needed information", so I'm kind of stuck now. Either way, I'm not really confident, I'd really appreciate some help with this.

I did get a programmer and SOIC8 clip, not a clue how to use it though. But I guess I'll need it to write new bios?

BIOS ver is 1.10 and laptop model is PT715-51-71W9
Here's the bios dump

Hello

Would it be possible for someone to unlock the bios so that I can disable raid?

Any help would be much appreciated!

I've backed up the bios using SOIC8 and AsProgrammer

Thanks

Hello

Would it be possible for someone to unlock the bios so that I can disable raid?

Any help would be much appreciated!

I dumped the BIOS using CH341A Programmer and flashrom

Also I'm a noob so I might have done something wrong. flashrom seems to only like to dump supported chips so I _think_ I got the right one. I'm unsure why my dump is so much smaller than others in this thread. :\

Thanks
