Acer E380 bios unlocking
#1
Hi, first of all, I'm French so sorry for my English :/
Next, my computer is an Acer E380-GC7L.

# Motherboard Name: Acer EM61SM/EM61PM
# Motherboard Chipset: Nvidia MCP61 Rev. A2
# BIOS brand: Phoenix technologies, LTD
# BIOS version: R01-B1
# BIOS date: 12/29/2006
(# Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+)
# CPU-Z's screenshot: Link

I don't know if I can use the unlocked BIOS for the Acer Aspire E380 R01-C0.

Thanks.

Bonjour Hellslicer,

Yes the first post in the Acer aspire E380 BIOS is the correct BIOS for your motherboard that will allow for full overclocking options. Make sure the BIOS name is M613Z_19.BIN.

Are you sure you used the right command line switches mentioned in the article?

Yes, I've just replaced "sn" by "sy" to backup my previous version into backup.bin (as you can see in the screenshot).

The command was :
Code:
awdflash M613Z_19.bin backup.bin /py /sy /cc / cd /cp /wb /r

Looks like you need to move the jumper on your motherboard thats enabling the BIOS lock protection.

Sorry for my question but I must take off the red jumper or just switch it to the other position ?

Thanks for the help =)

Edit : #Tried flashing with no red jumper ==> same error
#Tried flashing with the red jumper on the right (2-3) ==> same error

you could try the above command with /f as well.

I did several times and I searched for a jumper (my mainboard has none!) like a dumbass. You need the /f switch to "f"orce a foreign BIOS over your stock-one...

Sometimes you just have to try to be sure it is not working...

I am back in here as I promised! Big Grin So tell me your needs!

/f command works fine.
Thank you so much for the help ! =)
And thanks to 1234s282 for the unlocked BIOS.
