Soyo SY-P4i875P Platinum Edition
#1
Motherboard: Soyo SY-P4i875P Platinum Edition

Bios File/Type: P4CW4ba5.bin (Award v6.00PG)

Motherboard Bios Link: http://web.archive.org/web/2004122023023...cw4ba4.exe

Silicon Image SATA controller bios: http://www.siliconimage.com/docs/SiI3112_4402all.zip

I would like to replace the old SATA controller firmware included in the motherboard bios with the new SATA controller firmware.

Note: I have tried using CBROM to release the old SATA controller .bin and include the new one, but my motherboard will act as if there was no SATA firmware when CBROM shows it is present.
I have also tried AWARD editor v1.00 and the Motherboard bios image gets "corrupted", award editor claims.
I used Modbin6, but doesn't seem to let me do anything useful.

Any advice?

Thanks!

Thank you for your time. I will try flashing the Bios again when I get home. If you don't mind me asking... How did you do it? What tools did you use?

I had, in the past, successfully released the old SATA firmware from the bios file and inserted the new one, but when I flashed it, the motherboard would not even spawn the SATA firmware.

i still used cbrom but instead of releasing then inserting , i "replaced" the module over the existing one

Best of luck!

I finally got it to work. I used version 4.2.84.Apparently ver4.4.02 is not te right version. I still used Cbrom, released and inserted. My Raid now works with my 2 x 500gb WD drives =) Thanks!!
