Acer Aspire T180
#12
hi! i got the same problem with this mobo and bios mod thankyou for unlock but cpu mutiplier does not work, thought it went up to 25x?,only memory oc works, could be that the mobo has a soldered link jumper somewhere stopping oc

Admin, I think you should take a look into that BIOS again. It's either some jumper on motherboard, (I found only one named "Clear CMOS", others are just bare pins) or a BIOS bugUndecided

Right , Just to sum all this up and make it easier to sort out

Looking at the screenshots , the CPU Frequency Option (for overclocking) is editable , so that shouldnt be a problem

As previously stated , the voltage options under the Pc Health tab just report back the current voltages , you cant change the options on THIS menu.

DRAM Configuration - This is for memory overclocking , use the top optiobn which defaults to Auto to select the speed the memory runs at

Remote52 - The cpu multiplier is processor specific and cannot be changed unless you have an extreme processor (Quad Core Extreme or Pentium 4 Extreme). only the extreem edition chips have their multiplier unlocked , which is why they are so much more money than the locked multiplier ones. The only way of overclocking with a locked multiplier is to increase the FSB (Cpu Frequency option) and the voltages (Npt Fid Control and Npt Vid Control)

Il have a look at the mod again but everything seems to be fine

Try restoring all bios defaults , restarting the computer , making the changes , save the changes , boot to windows and use CPU-Z to see whether the speed has changed

Hope this helps
Im not sure what the TPM control , K8 <-> NB HT speed or K8 <-> NB HT width options are so id recommend leaving them on Auto.

Stupid acer don't give Vista nor drivers CD. My vista setup hung up for 40 minutes, so I turned it off. After then it just didn't go on. Gives an error, that Vista installation is corrupt and needs restart. Tried repair, but nothing changed. So I found a way to download windows vista, to avoid giving it to service, the day I bought it. Currently sitting behind your modded BIOS one Smile
I'll try to install vista tomorrow. Hope GTA IV won't lag (6GB RAM should help it) Big Grin

hi admin i have just had alook through bios file with modbin6 i have never modded a bios but i see there are a few "non selectable" options in there that are disabled like 0.5 in k8 - nb ht speed ect and "dram config" "timing mode" "manual" setting, any chance you can enable them please? thanks!
