Killed my Toshiba a300?
#1
Hello There

I made a mistake! Tryed to remove the BIOS pwd from my Toshiba a300 1j4 but i could't found any CMOS CLR on the Motherboard.
I took a soldering iron and removed the BIOS-battery for a few sek and thougt the BIOS is resetted now.
Bas one, now if i power on my Notebook the screen stay black and i can do anything Sad
Is there any way to fix this?
Sorry for my english, i'm a swiss guy..

Thanks

Yes, i unsoldered it temporarily, i know it was a big fail..
I thougt its like a desktop Motherboard where you can remove the Battery without erase or damaging the BIOS :S

the batteries are rechargeable and removable without using a soldering iron, you've most likely not soldered it back properly.

This battery isnt removable, its just soldered on the board with no cable or a connector..

ohh, if the battery's not connected then properly then I'd assume the system would see it as a dead battery and tell you that when you power on?, is it working on the external monitor?, do any of the hard drive lights come on?

The battery was only for ~1min unsoldered, after i soldered it back again (so its on the board now). The notebook does nothing, the VGA output doesent work, the screen stays black (backlite doesent work either), only the power on button and the poweron LED lights plus the fan is working.

try removing the battery again then powering on, if it boots and gives you a battery warning message then I'd say you're battery's now defective or was soldered wrong, if it does nothing then you may have killed your motherboard.
