Any chance of an unlocked bios for this model?

Intel i5 580M
ATI Mobility Radeon 5650

Please provide a link to the BIOS download, you can find this on the manufacturers website.

Actually, that's one of the problems, no bios on the manufacturer's website. All I have is the info above and the bios version R1140Y8

I can't modify it without having the original bios ( no backup ).

The backup copy can't be flashed after modified , so it will be useless .
try requesting the original bios from sony support .

Yeah, after spending an hour on the phone with sony, it seems that they won't release their bios iso to the public. Thanks for the replies, but it seems I'm hosed. Never buying a sony again...

Sony has good notebooks but the worst support you will ever see , this is from experience Smile
