leave the USB drive in, with the HP_TOOLS directory on there, just try to boot and leave it sitting, it takes a while.. mine took WAY longer than i ever imagined it could.. like 5 minutes... it felt like a half hour, but i'd guess it was about 5 minutes before it started writing the old bios.

Thanks,

I tried it and it flashed properly and it booted fine, then i came to change the settings in the advance menu, and the laptop is bricked now.

I tried recovering the bios using all methods but the laptops keeps rebooting, when i remove the ram and boot, the laptop responds a bit and gives the 3-Capslock blink code.

I sent my laptop to a repair center and they said it cannot be fixed (i doubt it cause they seem so stupid) and i have to replace my motherboard.

In conclusion, its definitely not worth it.

Hey,

How did you fixed it. I have the exact problem as you. I've tried to upgrade it to moded F.29 version from F.23. Now F10 F11 lights are on and black screen. Nothing happens even if I try to recover using usb method. USB drive seems to be reading but nothing happens. Even I have kept it on like that for overnight.
Can you please help me to fix mine. How did you do that , if you can tell me steps that would be very helpful. But my Laptop is DV7t 4000. but bios are the same as yours. I hope this will work out for my laptop.

Thanks
